Important Information for Coaches Wishing to Apply for the Level One Coaching Course

Coaching plays an important role within the sport of boxing. It is a critical component to ensure the participant has a positive learning experience. Boxing Victoria recommends that all coaches are accredited at the appropriate level and continue to develop themselves throughout their coaching participation.

Accreditation

The level 1 coaches course is part of Boxing Australia’s accreditation pathway and caters for all competition boxing coaches from Club & Community to International Coaches in AIBA Open Boxing (AOB), World Series Boxing (WSB) and AIBA Professional Boxing (APB). The level 1 course sets the foundation for any coach or trainer wanting to develop their coaching carrier or add another dimension of knowledge for their clients 
The pathway includes levels 1, 2, 3 and 4. 

Boxing Australia Level 1

The Boxing Australia Level 1 Coaching Course is accredited with the NCAS Scheme. The course is aimed at competition boxing coaches that coach at club and community level. The course requires the applicants to complete the ASC Online General Coaching Principles course as well as a boxing practical course by an approved BAL Presenter who will deliver a standardised course curriculum that has been approved by the NCAS and Boxing Australia.

Who is it available to:

Registered coaches of Boxing Victoria. Annual Registration fee is currently $100  (To register use the Join Now link on the home page)

What do you need to Apply for the Level One Course

• Register as a Coach with Boxing Victoria if not already. Click Here

• Submit your registration online for the Level 1 Coaches course. 

• Undertake a working with children check and obtain a card. Please see: http://www.workingwithchildren.vic.gov.au/home/applications

• Complete the “Coaching Principals” online course certificate. Please see: www.ausport.gov.au

• Pay the course fee, $300 for registered Boxing Victoria Inc Coaches, 

Please Note: a maximum of 12 participants will be accepted into each Level 1 course. 

What you need to bring with you:

• Payment Receipt
• Course Registration form (Download below)
• Current “ Working with Children Check”
• Evidence of completion of online “Coaching Principals” requirement
• Two current Passport photos and receipt of payment to BVI
• Print out your online pre-requisite certificates. These courses are compulsory components as they are referred to many times throughout the course
• You must provide your own pen and paper
• Wear comfortable clothing for practicing drills (track pants and sneakers) boxing gloves, Laptop

These requirements need to be adhered to, otherwise, BVI will not be able to issue Level 1 Coaches Cards.
